I'm one of those rare people who actually likes to write. Writing has given me the opportunity to meet celebrities, politicians and CEOs, and even to travel the world. All of that just from putting pen to paper!

I was born in Detroit and raised in the 'burb of Southfield, Michigan. After I graduated from Southfield High (GO BLUE JAYS!), I spent two years at the University of Pittsburgh (GO PANTHERS!) partying like a rock star. Pitt is also where I discovered the career of journalism.  I moved back home and got my B.A. in Journalism from Wayne State University (GO WARRIORS!) in 2006. My first job out of college was at a newspaper in Monroe, Louisiana. I lived in West Monroe. Yes, the same West Monroe as the Duck Dynesty folks, and no, I never met them. I then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2007 and have been here since. I got married and had two kids here.

I also created the Young Authors Institute, an organization that teaches creative writing to young people. Creative writing has many benefits, including teaching empathy, thinking outside of the box, grammar and spelling. Plus, it's just plain fun!
